Please Call Me Back
Hie young me
I long to see you once more
You, the me of old
The juvenile version of myself
You, who accompanied me in my formative years
My counterpart in that free world
A world that knew no misery
A cosmos where I was king
When my servants scavenged the jungle for my upkeep.
I knew no trouble but only to cry for feed
New clothes came at my bidding
I knew not the pain of hard labor.

Now the days are gone.
You left me to myself to roam the jungle
To travail for my stomach
Now to fill it is such a struggle
Everyone has left it to me
To walk alone the forests I hardly know
Now in the beta version of me
To experiment with life
Rushing in between the trials and errors
As if there was a second chance to spare
The disconcerted world face me
Leaving me to myself with no concern

If I had the strength I would put you on once more
This time I wont let go of you
I will cling to adolescence forever
Better be a toddler forever
Than a man for a decade or two.
For life is rough for the grown ups
For you have to labor for survival
In a world so uncaring and unappreciative
To reach the grave so spent
With nothing but a craving for life.
Oh my younger self
I wish to be in your bosom forever!
Please call me back!
