I understand not
The exaggeration of the need for joy.
I understand not
The fear of loss hunting the merry dream.
I understand not
Why the path of life
Has to be filled with
Roses and lilies that wither in the end.
I fail to understand
The happiness derived
From the suffering of others.
I fail to feel
Happiness over a stranger's fall.
I fail to know
Why leeching onto someone
Who doesn't realize what being human is.

And I don't understand why
The empty pursuit of happiness,
Shown through wealth and envy,
Is admired and wasted
By the life given to them.

When life has everything,
Where basics are covered,
The life led is good.
Where we hold the freedom in our palms
And reach stars never reached before,
Yet something feels not right.

I think it's time
We step back
To the nature we were born from,
Learn the morals that were lost,
Learn the roads with weeds
Are subtly beautiful.
The raindrops are nothing but
The same river water.
And humans are beings
With intelligence and determination
Who find life
Where the human mind remains at peace,
Where no phantom of the past
Or monster of the future shall feed
On your soul.
