Summertime fairy tale
The children play,
Under the sun,
With laughter and glee,
As the day is done.
It was dark all of a sudden,
The happiness ended so soon,
And the children gazed at the moon.

The children sighed,
As the night drew near,
But the stars above,
Brought a glimmer of cheer.
The crickets chirped,
As the fireflies flickered,
And the children knew,
Tomorrow they'd be back, quicker.

At this point it's a fairy tale,
Which is left for the children to tell.
A magical tale,
Of summertime bliss,
With laughter and joy,
That will not amiss.
The children dreamed,
Of summertime fun,
As they slept so soundly,
Till the morning sun.

The summertime's end,
Was not the last,
For the memories made,
Would forever last.
