Sadness
Dear Sadness, my unwelcome guest,
I write to you, as you make me depressed

You tiptoe in like whispered lies,
Your presence, a cloak of darkened skies.
With every breath, you tighten your hold,
A merciless grip, my spirit you fold.

Oh Sadness, you cunning thief of light,
Cloaked in shadows, darkness defined.
You devour my smiles, with a guilty glee,
Leaving hollow echoes of what used to be.

Metaphors dance upon this pleading page,
Trying to encapsulate this sorrowful stage.
The heart, a wounded bird on barren land,
Tender melodies silenced by your command.

You're a moonless night, devoid of stars,
A collapsing bridge, with no comfort afar.
You bind my thoughts in chains of despair,
Whispering doubts, with merciless care.

But dear Sadness, amidst your bleak embrace,
I find comfort in the tears I trace.
For in the depths, where hope seems faint,
I unearth strength, resilience, and paint.

Like a phoenix rising from charred remains,
I'll forge my path through life's weathered plains.
I'll gather shards of broken dreams deep,
Creating mosaics of purpose to keep.

So, Sadness, though you cling and cling,
I’ll rise above on Hope's gentle wing.
Through clever words and soul's release,
I'll find healing and grant myself peace.

For within sadness lies a depth untold,
A chance to grow, to be strong and bold.
And when you depart, as surely you must,
I'll emerge stronger, resilient, and just.

With ink-stained hands and a heart aflame,
I'll reclaim my joy, my forgotten name.
For, Sadness, you're but a chapter, you see,
In the book of my misery
