Used to do a daily sense check-
hadn't left any of your messages unread,
that I'd asked plenty questions of your life,
that there was something left
of our friendship.
Months went by & it was only senseless.

And I'll admit, could've been more attentive.
Commited at least one crime unintended-
nevertheless accept I played a part in this.

So I say sayonara, see you later, ciao.
Every language hurting more somehow.
Reminders of all the ways we haven't
said the words, could do all the verbs
and still be thinking of you,
'til you let our feelings out.
