All Within My Mind

Dark is the night,
Darker the soul,
Fathomless depths,
Stories untold...
My mind is my enemy although at rest,
My heart tries to succumb but fails at its best.
My thoughts sees all as foe,
It knows only what it knows,
All that cause pain upon me,
that's all my mind sees.
The gruelling thoughts that form in my brain,
Its seen all I've been through and all of that pain.
Revenge is its mission to stop all that's been done,
An end to the turmoil so my heart can feel the sun.
Its goal to bring warmth to my cold empty heart is near,
But the cost seen to achieve is not good that's clear.
Then all the nightmarish thoughts clouds my sleep,
Cutting in my soul and heart so very deep.
Then in that instance, I fly awake,
from the terrible sights,
I'm so glad it was dreamt and my minds bad ideas never took flight.
