The Sleep That Gave Birth To A Poem!
Overpowering tiredness envelops me
Eagerly anticipating the slumber of an infant
Eyelids relinquishing the last vestiges of daylight
Before finding sanctuary within the Twilight zone
A cascading waterfall of sleep deprivation
Travelling downstream into a flowing river of sleep
A treasure trove of glistening dreams awaits us
Freed from the liana vines spawned from our nightmares
Dedicated to fellow mortals yearning for a visit from
The mythological God of sleep, Hypnos
& his son Morpheus, the bringer of dreams.
