What's Hard In Letting Go?
Neither to release, nor to acknowledge the truth,
A journey, haunts the heart along the paths.

To release:

The ghost of love's debris,
Shadows of sacrifices,
Remnants racking memories,
Flickering emotions turned to ashes,
Tides of love that crashed.
Sacrifices in vain,
Questions remain.

To acknowledge:

The harsh truths unveiled.
Vanity of effort,
Betrayal teared trust.
Wasted feelings,
Unseen scheming.
Arduous grievance,
Disregarded existence.
Cycle of healing, loving, and hurting,
A daunting path, once more crumbling.

Yet, in the depths of distress,
With open eyes and scars to convalesce.
Casting off the shackles of the past,
A sonnet of strength ignites steadfast
To brush what no longer rhyme the essence,
To nurture the spirit free from evanescence.
