The mask
The mask was so beautiful, yet only to the eyes of the viewers.
The mask is so ugly, no one can see the tears on the eyes of the girl who wears it.
No one can see the pain in her eyes,
she's worn the mask for so long that she doesn't know who's underneath the mask anymore.
she's happy, sad, proud, confident, and predominantly anxious around different people to which each personality suits best.
But in all? she has self-doubt, the mask is her comfort zone from the anger of people, from having a fight, but the mask torments her.
she wonders what it feels like to be her, she wonders what it feels like to utter the word "NO", she has barely said that word to a person.
she's careful not to let the mask slip, she's scared and feels she always has something to hide.
But for how long? she has cried for way too long, she has disrespected herself for way too long, so when will she pick herself up and gather the courage to pull off the mask? when will she choose to be real?
when will she laugh only when she feels like genuinely and when will she stop acting like a clown to fit in?
when will she stop seeking attention and when will she smile genuinely?
when will she start acting dumb and when will she stop speaking loudly to gain attention?
when will she stop being scared to say what she wants? and when will she accept her quiet nature?
when will she accept her independent self? and when will she stop asking people to make decisions for her?
when will she decide to have a real conversation and when will she stop mirroring people beneath her?
The girl underneath is beautiful, but when will she finally have the courage to accept her?
