A lad who lived for football,
fit and thin, fast on the field,
dream of making a big and
aiming to represent India,
at the school level,
gained a victory in many tournaments,
and played a winning role,
that used to be either 5 a side
or 7 a side,

As he grew up
enrolled in a professional club,
walked to 11 a side ground,
that was a different setting altogether,
a few goals in starting matches
gave rise to an impressive start,
everyone began noticing,
started talking about his agility,


In the due course,
expectations to deliver boosted,
yet his stamina didn't stand up,
struggled to play for full-time
with intense energy,
that brought him down,
started to get lesser playing time,
from thereon, grey area emerged.

After the year, once the realization
wandered into the mind,
started working on his own,
gave rise to stamina,
came out from miserable days
his days of recognition bounced back.

this reminds me of the saying that goes,
When the sky is grey,
it's going to rain,
When the sky is bright,
everything's going to be alright.
