THE PRETENDER POET
I am a pretender poet
Who can wriggle scoundrels into chivalrous
And the coward into robust
I could make myself a queen and a king beside me in the castle.
I could have a horse and ride on its back,
I could compose a fairy tale poetry with full of happiness and love,
An optimistic ending that forever last.

I am a pretender poet
Because I can shine the sun when it's raining
I could roar the thunder when it's calm.
I could turn the darkness into a bright.
I could dance in the paradise that doesn’t exist,
I could sing in the crowd and strum my guitar confidently,
I could climb the mountain without any sweat.
I could soar my wings like an eagle in the sky,
I could run away and butcher the serpent who trying to gnaw on me.

I am a pretender poet with lots of talents.
I could smile even if I'm crying inside.
I could withstand my fear and falsify my smile
I could pretend to squirm bravely in the dark and no one's there to guide.
I could befriend to someone who stabs my back,
I could whisper sweet nothing even if I'm mad
And I could masquerade that I am cheerful even if I'm sad.

I am a pretender poet
Because I could help my country, a great solution against poverty.
I could cease the war and imagine world peace.
I could heal the world, through God's grace.
I could halt the pandemic, and could vanish the COVID,
I could thwart them all with a well-written piece
I could fabricate interesting poetry for the sake of my juveniles, nephews and nieces.

Yes, I am a pretender poet
And every time I engrave my phrases
I make sure it brings you to somewhere you wouldn't know.
You will never discern the true meaning behind each line.
For I am a pretender poet who can withhold the true feelings behind my rhyme.

Are you a pretender poet?
Because I am.
