Today her memories strike back,
A cruel and unrelenting attack,
Each thought a sharp and painful dart,
That pierces through my broken heart.

I see her face, her lovely smile,
The way she laughed and made life worthwhile,
Her touch, her scent, her warm embrace,
A distant dream I can no longer trace.

The memories flood, and I drown,
In the sea of sorrow, I can't come around,
For she was the light in my darkest days,
And without her, my world is but a hazy maze.

I long to hold her once again,
To feel her love, to ease the pain,
But fate has taken her away,
Leaving me to struggle and fray.

So I cling to the memories that remain,
Hoping they'll help me weather the strain,
For though she's gone, her love still lives,
And in my heart, her memory forever thrives.
