By God’s Hands
I was not born.
I was imagined, planned, and made
by God.
My skin is a testimony of
the people who came
before me;
My heart reminds that
I am here to love unconditionally
and unapologetically;
God gave me a brain to
think, learn and imagine
wonderful things.
He even made sure that my name
was His own unique signature.
I am not just a person,
but a carefully crafted book
holding all the stories of
regret, failure, success,
happiness, a story of hate,
love and kindness
for the generation before me.
I am not just an extension
of their legacy, but also of
God’s.
And may I just say: that He did a
wonderful job of creating me.
