Flipping The Scene Of Shame
Before a wound heals, it may fester and grow,
to bigger pains and ugliness
before it starts to heal from the inside
and grows into the glow we see when it’s healed.
It may take a lot of time
to heal along the way
as others pour salt to increase the pain,
requiring bigger measures to heal from within.
With each step in the process,
we build better versions of self.
Others may be stuck on an older version
but, take comfort in knowing
they are way behind.
Each wound takes time to heal
and greater measures to overcome,
builds a greater version of self
and equips us to go forward,
building in better ways.
