I grew up surrounded by people who dictated to me what to do, robbing me of the chance to pursue my own desires. I don't even know what I want anymore, as I've never had the opportunity to make my own choices. Every time I try to assert myself, their discouraging comments deflate my confidence. It feels like I have no freedom at all, and this constant influence has left me scared and uncertain about my purpose in life.
