Nature's Embrace

What else could possibly make her feel as free as this? The thought crossed her mind as she stood with toes gently wrestling the soft dewy grass underfoot.
Outside her rural house, away from the city and the bustling town- life she once knew. Now in her flowery jammies at the break of dawn, surrounded by nature's welcoming embrace, similar to that of her late mom's.
She hears the rustling of the leaves roar like lions in the wind; the unmistakeable sound of tinkling water in a stream somewhere near. Slowly a growing dawn chorus begins as birds, big and small, flit from tree to tree.
A sense of sweet serenity envelops her in its warm embrace as the sunlight begins to dapple through the treetops of this purely natural space.
She's reminded of her mother who went to be with the Lord after she passed away from an illness, last year on a summer day. Her eyes fill with tears as she bows her head to pray for the ones still present in this earthly realm and the mom she hopes to see and spend time with when she, one day, departs this place.
