Dual Reflections
Mirror on the wall
What with your face a lustre splash?
Yet shadows whisper in the night.
A cheerful face, is that a sparkling guise,
Concealing the depths, where chaos lies?

A calm look outside, the world’s delight, While inside battles rage, way out of sight.
A fragile heart, absorbing all,
What strength holds you this tall?

“Who are you?” I ask my reflection,
A split between joy and introspection.
Dual paths that rarely meet,
One in the world, one in retreat.

A mask of laughter, eyes that gleam,
While within, I drift in a waking dream.
Two selves collide, yet none can see,
The quiet storm inside of me.

The mirror shows a tale untold,
Of light and dark, of bold and cold.
A dance between what’s seen and felt,
Where two existences quietly meld.

In this balance, I seek my way,
Embracing both night and day.
For in the duality, I find my grace,
A complex beauty in this space.
