Fall of Foliage
Watching each one of my siblings; thousands-
Disconnect from life, for their final leap.
Knowing that ev’ry one has their reasons,
And other aspirations they must seek.
~
Then, I too, am pulled from my branch of life-
Not by choice, I gently float down to earth.
Wherever I land is where I’ll reside,
‘til the cycle of life gives a rebirth
~
Seasons dictate when to begin again,
But moreover, when things need to die.
The leaves on the trees will return in spring,
Any hour can be our last goodbye.
~
There’s a transformation to our next stages-
We don’t have a ‘say’ in what happens next.
All we can do is roll with the changes-
And wherever we’re at, give it our best.
