we feel to belong
to be loved, cared for
Untortured, not brutalized

Often times, we're left with
absolutely no choice
know why?
we're gifted to them
they require not our validation
it's left to us
to embrace them
their all: good, bad
worse, worst

But each day we look at them,
We stare at us
in awe wondering
if that's all to it

Believe me when I say
love is like a stream
of water snaking
to an unwitnessed eternity
