The space Between us
We met online, November 20th, 2020,
A virtual encounter, an unforeseen bond to grow.
From strangers to friends, or perhaps something more,
Our connection deepened, leaving me wanting more.
Songs you sent, lyrics that spoke to my soul,
As if written for us, making my heart whole.
Your words, "You're mine," echoed in my mind,
But "friends" was the label, leaving me entwined.
You'd appear and disappear, like the morning dew,
Leaving emptiness, yet I dared not ask "why" or "what to do."
No claim on you, no right to question your heart,
Though every silence hurt, tearing us apart.
But then you'd say, "I miss your absence,"
And my heart would soar to beautiful distances.
Your one call, one text, could make my day shine,
A single message, and my world would align.
Sometimes I know you won't text or call,
But still, I'd check...
