Can You Read My Mind
In the quiet of the night,
When the stars are shining bright,
A voice inside my head repines,
"Can you read my mind?"

The thoughts that race, never still,
Like the beating of a heart, so chill,
They whisper secrets, deep and divine,
"Can you read my mind?"

The hopes and fears, joys and pains,
The memories that still remain,
They all dance together, in a line,
"Can you read my mind?"

In dreams, the images that unfold,
The stories yet to be told,
They beckon, calling out like a sign,
"Can you read my mind?"

The mysteries that shroud my soul,
The feelings that refuse to be controlled,
They beg me to see what lies behind,
"Can you read my mind?"

The truth that lingers out of sight,
The mysteries that haunt me in the night,
They haunt me like a phantom, so unkind,
"Can you read my mind?"

And yet, amidst the darkness and the doubt,
I hear a voice, so soft and devout,
It tells me that within me lies,
The power to read my own mind.

So I close my eyes and take a breath,
And reach deep within, to what lies beneath,
And there, amidst the chaos I find,
The answers to the questions in my mind.

And now, with each passing day,
I listen closely to what my heart has to say,
For though the journey may be long and unkind,
I know that I can read my own mind.
