I never thought the man in uniform
Whom the whole town calls 'chief'
Will have a thing for a girl like me
Who travel from town to town escaping her past.
After those few days of our stay in B&B
I realized I'm not just a rebound for you.
I loved the way you outdid yourself
To find my plants which are not so mine.
The blueberry festival and antique fair we attended
Just an excuse to spend a little more time with you.
You forgave my brother in the hallway
The night he came drunk to fight with you.
I dared and came to apply for town's citizenship
Which indirectly means 'I don't wanna love anyone but you'.
But it broke me when i saw those damn flyers
In the hands of locals who once were very welcoming.
I felt like i was stuck in the fire once again
And shame blurred my vision.
Then you admitted your mistakes in front of whole town
On the newyear's eve, Risking your profession and fame.
And that gave an answer to my numerous doubts
"He'll never break his promise like her ".
I met you in the halfway near the lake
Little victorious smile on my face
Cause i felt like i found my home
Oh man, this new year is the beginning of us.
