I travelled along an ancient road,
Past town and tower, wall and watch.
First the fires of my fief faded,
My feet facing away from my friends.
Second the sun sank silently,
The surface swallowing it whole.
The wild wood welcomed this wanderer,
Cloaking me from the candle-covered canopy.
A cackle carried my character,
Taking me from the travelled path.
Though to start, nothing did I see.
