When Those Lights Came
When those lights came
Red blue, blinding lights they were
Stiff my legs became
Unwilling to move
Pigs in blue coming towards me
Pointed spot lights dancing on my body
Guns now aimed at me
Smoking gun on the ground
Bloody hands above my head
I was caught in the act
Black man in the suburds
Over the body of race's favourite son
What could I do?
But close my eyes
And wait for my due
My cell is cold
But less cold than the nights before
The slammer is a bad place
Don't let your pals deceive you otherwise
Faced more stabbings in here
Than outside
Waiting for these jail walks to be over
Though that only happens when I die.
