A brutal kingdom: The Aztec
#WritcoPoemPrompt35
By the flickering light of an ancient lamp,
By the twinkling waters of an ancient river,
The dancer entertains the heathen enemies.
This fascinating history forever etched in stone,
Is a monumental discovery...
Of the Aztec which is to be behold,
The one's who killed their foe's and the one's who had abundance in gold,
The one's who did auspicious sacrifices, and the one's who were brutal,
The one's who were suspicious of their tributaries, and the one's who had the citadel.
For they were tribal, didn't know anything about organizing,
For they only knew killing,
The king a manifestation of god itself,
but in reality he's just flesh.
They failed to see the approaching threat, which would bring death,
They failed to notice the the intentions of Columbus, which was to plunder.
