I remember a piece
But then forget another
Like my mind says "no" to me remembering
Protecting me so I can't put the bits and pieces back together
So I don't know where they go
How they fit
How they used to fit together in my world
Yet It's like I don't know what happened
What happened to me
My mind has put up a wall,
A wall I can't climb
Can't get around
But this protection might just be killing me
If I can't remember
I can't heal

I can't mend this broken heart for good
