Can I just Say
Can I just say that I don't hate you,
I can’t however say the same for myself.
One of us has no regret,
And the other feels he orchestrated his own descent, he robbed himself.

Can I just say that he was already done.
Done with giving himself to people, so why did he do it again?
He knew they’d leave his heart bare to the wind and run.
He knew It’d just be him, His lord and all the world’s pain.

So why did he let you in?
Could it be he felt like being in the worldly din?
Maybe you gave an illusion of life,
And maybe he thought he’d already endured his share, of silent strife.

Turns out that was not the case,
And Oh how he did lose face.
Maybe he just hates his foolish endeavor,
And now he risks that emotion overtaking him forever.

So can I say, that one of us has regret,
One of us wishes to forget.
How he played himself short,
How what he planned was nothing of the sort.
