With one dollar bills some crumpled some new
They look down at her as she counts out cash
With noses turned up and judgements cast

Yet none offered help
Before she took the stage
To a crowd that's loud and in a craze
But her needs so deep she feels no shame
She gyrates as the money rains

But only after she makes up her face
And downs the shots she can't even taste
Glitter shimmering from neck to toes
She's gonna do this, she already knows

Cause before she left home tonight the lights were off
Her mother's sick and the medicine cost
With just half the rent and a day til due
She looks in the mirror and says "Do what you have to do"
