At night we sleep, sometimes we dream
Of many things, so many it seems
We dream of people, of those we know
Of different places we'd like to go

We dream that we are capable
Of amazing things at our free will
We dream that we can sing and dance
That we could be famous if given the chance

At times we dream of more than this
Our wedding day, our very first kiss
Of wondrous talents that we possess
Of superhuman abilities and powers no less

A disturbing dream once in a while
A horrible nightmare, scary and vile
Being attacked, murdered or eaten whole
Or demons trying to take your soul

We also dream of the simple thing
The things we've lost, that which is missing
Of things we'd give up anything to gain
To see or walk or feel again

Our dreams can bring us joy and hope
Broaden our horizon, widen our scope
Our dreams are more than fantasy
It's who we are and who we could be
