Silent Suffering
In the depths of night, where shadows reside,
Strong souls suffer, their pain they hide.
With masks adorned, they smile through the day,
But inside, their hearts in disarray.
Alone they bear the weight of their strife,
Silent battles fought, hidden from life.
To friends, they reveal only half the truth,
Shielding their pain, their anguish, uncouth.
Their laughter echoes, a facade so grand,
Yet inside, they crumble, like shifting sand.
They wear a brave face, to ease others' fears,
But their own torment, it silently sears.
In the darkness, their tears fall like rain,
A symphony of sorrow, a silent refrain.
They bear the burden, alone in their plight,
For they don't want to burden their loved ones' sight.
Their family, unaware of the depths they tread,
Their pain kept hidden, their hearts heavy as lead.
They suffer in silence, to protect those dear,
Their anguish, a secret, they hold near.
But oh, the weight they carry, the scars they bear,
A heavy burden, too much for one to bear.
In the stillness of night, their cries go unheard,
As they navigate a world, where their pain is blurred.
So let us remember, the strong ones we see,
May be fighting battles, we cannot foresee.
Extend a hand of kindness, a listening ear,
For in their silent suffering, their strength is clear.
