Why does it steady feel like I’m working more
and the grind doesn’t stop, I’m so torn
I wanna live my life and a have fun
but don’t have time because of funds
I need to make a choice but I don’t see one
work and grind forever or freedom
to survive in this world you need hyperactivity
while secretely not knowing you’re in captivity
they have you stuck in a mentality
that you need friends, money and popularity
they have us working on TikTok and instagram
when we are all tired, searching for a relating fan
you are alone, it’s up to you to feel more than
no matter what I choose I am upset
I can say fuck everyone’s opinion
but my opinion is worse, I’m my on self critic
trying to climb up as a poor black woman
when the whole system is systematic
all I can really say is I tried
trying to make a choice when it’s already decided
