But Yet…You Are Not Here
I lay a top you, but yet you are not here.

I breathe air pooled by your genes, but yet you are not here.

I speak to you, and I write to you, but yet you are not here.

I strive to stay true to the values you shined upon me, but yet you are not here with me to see those play out.

I lived with your beloveds, but yet you are not here with us.

Though, you are all around us,

in the air I breathe,
in the lungs I keep,
in the words I speak,
in the actions I take,

because I am always going to be your daughter, and you will always be my mother forever,

beyond the depths of the grave…

I miss you mum, you were and are my solid rock of yesteryear. I hope that you can read this piece, and that it makes you smile. You always did encourage my writing.

And thank you to @RaquelCosta for your words of encouragement to me to keep writing! It meant more to me than you could ever know.
