I Lost My Mother
I missed the days we used to play games together.
The days when you would escort me to school and pamper,
My bag that always had biscuits and water.
And how I always came prim and proper.
I miss the gasoline station where you used to buy me ice cream put on a wafer,
And the sterilized milk you loved drinking over and over.
Something we used to share when I was a toddler.
But the once loving mother all turned over.
The thoughtful, caring, and doting person,
Suddenly became a stranger.
In these memory lanes,
I will always go back, rewind, and remember,
How it felt when I once had a mother.
