My name is Josiah and I've been through Hell
I was young, but I grew up with a story to tell
physically abused by my father and also by an ex
and so I turned to food as a way for me to eject.
My name is Josiah and I used to drink everyday
though alcohol gave me the desires of getting away
hiding my addictions from the people I trust & knew
I used to drink whenever I felt so sad and so blue.
My name is Josiah and I struggled with my truth
for a long time, I was forced to deny my youth
though boxing and judo gave me the love that I need
I slowly started to see my sadness planting its seeds.
My name is Josiah and I'm proud to say I'm here
even though I cried alone without a single tear
I've been with women and men who truly loved me
but the truth is that I wish I could just be free.
