The sunset in a red envelope
#WorldPoetryDay

Years passed by
Time flew by

Memories wrapped up in the envelope
with dust resting over it like a tightened rope

Hands shivering eyes filled with tears
all scared and nervous to open it ,still in dark fears

Day passes by kissing the forehead of night
the envelope still sits on the table screaming out my name to stop the dilemma and the fight

Sunsets never seemed to be beautiful from the day we parted ways
heart all choked up all filled with cracks like it's a battered pot made of clay

Sipping the coffee looking through the glass pane
witnessed the beauty of the setting sun all red on the skies lane

Memories kissed me like a dew drop kissing a leaf
never felt so happy so full of joy and rid of grief

Setting myself down
I picked up the envelope with a slight doubt in a frown

Opening it I smiled at the dried rose petals flying out
With a shy smile I whispered these were the same roses I gave you along with my heart ......

Reminding of hope
There it was smiling at me in awe " THE SUNSET IN A RED ENVELOPE"
