Dear friend
To a friend I wrote a letter
with the hope of becoming better.
Dear friend, it started,
I know it's been a while since we parted,
it would delight me to know you're well
off I went to the wishing well,
with the hope of restoring our friendship,
I had to endure some hardship
with nothing more to say
for this silence I have to pay,
so either I lose a friend
or repent and mend.

To a friend I wrote another letter
knowing I could not be better.
My attitude towards you could not mend
this letter I don't know if I shall ever send.
Dear friend
our friendship, I thought, used to be inextricable
now it's treading on a thin wire cable.
I don't know if sending this letter is ideal,
I'm writing with the hope for my soul to heal,
ironically it's obliterating me bit by bit
for I know the truth I told
will conscientiously put our friendship to it's end.

I heard you've been thinking about me,
well, those are the levels my thoughts degraded to.
I'm frequently reminiscing the days of old
and think you think of them as frail, And old.
I always am surprised by the outcome of my friendships
like constantly reading that one book
and it has that relatable one line
that, Always, suffuses tears in your eyes.
Dear friend
here I am still writing letters I'll never send.

Yours cordially.
