I want out
#FreedomQuest

Meeting with the existing quietness
Heavily hung in the air
Locking the free air shut
With the confusion settling in their hearts.

Coming from the youngest of all,
It had been like the sting of a bee,
Her words had bathed them with painful sores,
"This hell of a home" she muttered more pain to their sore.

Had she known,
Had they understood,
Or perhaps let the air of communication blow off this moment of pain years before,
Their silence would hold respect now.

Panting like she ran a marathon,
Eyes darting from side to side,
She spoke like the angry waves of the ocean were after her,
Her words becoming gibberish.

"I want out," she choked between sobs....
The alarm rings loudly,
Sending shivers to her spine, it's 5:00 a.m.

All had been a dream,
Yet she understood how long she had folded this child from light,
And now, her persistent quest to live like every other child
Had cost her barely 2 hours sleep to be horrifying.

Rubbing her saggy eyes,
She let out a sleepy yawn,
As muttered to the air,
"Today we unclip the wings of a bird"
