The Girl Of His Dreams
There was once a boy
A boy so young
yet so tired of life,
the life he had been living
since not so long.
He was just a lost boy
trying to find light
hopelessly roaming in darkness
and dejected by betrayals
of people he thought were his own,
broken so many times
and put through such immense pain
so he refused to believe
that his life could change.
It was until he saw someone,
someone he could once only meet
in his wildest dreams
and today was the day
to finally see
the girl of his dreams
to catch a glimpse of her
at the time he expected the least.
He saw her
and ran out of words
to describe what she
had suddenly made him feel
Was it a ray of hope?
or a bunch of butterflies?
He was oblivious
yet completely stunned.
but he knew
that she, the girl he saw
she felt like home.
She smelled like the first rain
that comes after days of hot weather.
She smelled like a garden,
adorned by roses, lilies and sunflowers,
with butterflies fluttering around them
as their protectors.
She felt like dandelions
that grant wishes
and carry messages to loved ones.
She looked like the dream of a poet
the kind of dream a poet would have
and turn into his most soulful poem.
She felt like the wish
granted by a shooting star.
She looked so calm
as if the moon had blessed her
as if she had arrived...
A boy so young
yet so tired of life,
the life he had been living
since not so long.
