Her Inner Strength
#WritcoPoemChallenge
#WomensDay
Her eyes gleamed with the light
Of her inner strength,
She had walked miles,
Not worried about the length,
And as she gazed around she started to smile
Realising she hadn't, not for a while
Not since she crossed through deserts and rivers wide
Crawled through valleys and mountains high
And not since she crossed the seas, through storm and night
And so she sit back and closed her eyes
As she looked back at all the lows and high
Remembering how fast she had to walk to keep ahead of all her fears
With the troubling noise of danger in her ears
Growing weary with all things, various wearies of the years
It was then that she realised, that during the times of slow decline
Faith had kept her alive with a spark of hope that kept her dreams alive
And now her spirit had found freedom all around
Like a shape shifter through the atmosphere, breaking all the troubled walls down
With the power to conquer anything
That any charm or potion could ever bring
She's clothes in honour and strength
Because sometimes no-one else can give you help
So although the road ahead still holds many tests, challenging at best
Inspite of all the tears she cried, if she fall she will survive
Because the strength inside her soul isn't hard to hold
And light up the road ahead, which looks quite uncertain,
With no guessing what's behind the next curtain
And though the distant still remains
As the blood runs through her veins
She'll trust her heart and share to ease the pain
Cause she has learned to bury her pride and say goodbye
To be free from all the helpless worry
Because she'd decided long ago that life was a long and rocky journey
And so she can be strong, she can be weak, and both would be okay
Because her strength, her worth, her validity
Her dignity is equally deserved!!
