A djinn has fallen in love with you
Enchanted you
Or why else you are so unkind to me
Your true just lover
Perhaps it had peeped at
Your nakedness
Right after you bathe
In red wine
And lost its senses
If it had them
Perfumes of Arabia
Languished
When it smelt
Your red mahogany hair
An heir to the great beauties,
You wore
In your eyes
Too bright lapis lazuli
And silk to hide
Those heavenly spheres
O beautiful Bengali babe
Don't forsake me
For some mysterious
Ugly djinni
