The Dark Riders
Verse One
I found myself deep within the heart of the forest,
Wrapped in solitude, lost in nature's embrace.
My path led to a sanctuary of safety,
When suddenly, an unearthly wail shattered the stillness.
I dropped to the ground, concealed beneath a massive, fallen tree,
As the shadow of the rider loomed ominously above me.
Chills crawled over my skin as the eerie creatures of the underbrush
Scuttled forth, driven by a primal fear.
The sinister presence of the black rider filled the air,
And those creepy crawlies scattered,
As if lured away by an unseen force.
In that moment of rising dread, I took off running.
Chorus
A black rider is upon me,
His gaze relentless,
Hunting for my presence,
Searching fervently for my scent.
Verse Two
The night enveloped the forest in its inky darkness,
And the sounds of my pursuers echoed through the twisted trees,
Their footsteps were relentless, driving me deeper into the wicked embrace of the woodlands.
In a desperate bid for escape, I leaped into a small boat that rocked beneath my weight,
Paddling furiously, I managed to leave them behind, if only for a moment.
Eventually, I reached the town of Bree,
But my time there was fleeting, a mere day and night,
As I sought refuge in the Prancing Pony,
The inn's warm glow offers a brief respite from the night’s terrors.
