Fences
A wall has been built around me
By no one less than my oppressors
Masquerading themselves as authorities
When in reality, obstructors
A border has been built
Between me and my ambitions
All in the name of education
Whose bitter weaves have left me weary
I find my myself in this dark tunnel
Whose endless darkness
Has kept me bordered from the light
Where my dreams lie
Where they lie almost in oblivion
Hope now a fickle treat
One that I rarely eat
My hope now fenced
With steel bars of endless darkness
The tunnel's walls are cold, black and dreary
Much like my soul
Which is now filled with worry
I await for my angel to roll away
The stone that has blocked my dark tunnel
And to break down these cold walls
So that light may shine forth
On even the darkest corners of my fenced life.
