Jesus, Why Can't I See You?
Jesus, why can't I see you?
You're always in my heart,
You rest so easy in my mind.
For once, can't your gentle hand
touch mine?

You sing to my soul majestically
When I'm feeling so lost & alone.
I know you appeared to
the wise men;
Now I'm ready to be taken
to your home.

Do you see me as I am,
Or as I long to be?
When your love speaks to my heart,
Do your adoring eyes perceive
the tiny child in me?

When the cold fires burn within me,
Please send your angels
Down tonight to rescue me.
I'm in dire need of your comfort,
And Jesus, my eyes adore thee.

When you slept in the manger,
Know my heart was there
Aching for your beauty
Which is beyond compare.

I'm glad you didn't remain silent,
When you ransomed your pure soul
for mine.
I willingly exchange
My crimson robes for thine
In your sacred church for all time.

Please remember me now
and always,
Especially when my spirit
Is drowning in deepest despair
For my heart will remember you
forever
And treasure all the times
that we shared.

I long to reside in
your golden kingdom,
And drink from the magical waters
To wash away all
My worldly shadows & sins
So I can reign beside you in Heaven
once again.

Moreover, I'd be exceedingly
honored
To call you my dearest friend:
Because without you to guide me,
I'd be a lost, blind, exiled prisoner
wandering unheeding
In my unmitigated,
unholy treachery, and vilest sin.
