The Rain
The rain is coming down
Showers pouring to kiss the earth
The wind gently blowing above the ground
These elements inspire a new birth
Memories of a not so distant past emerge
Wishes of a not so near future converge
Like thousands of little blissful kisses
The raindrops give such feeling
The rain that falls
Is a voice somewhere that calls
A heart that deeply yearns
For a far off love to return
The rain is a prayer,
an expression of deep longings
The rain is an answer,
a response to steep callings
The rain is comely and adored
The rain is horrid and abhorred
The rain is the song of scores of songs
The rain bears the rhythm of all souls
Sundry things come up as the rain comes down
Listen, for the rain tells a story in its sound
Amidst the sunshine can the rain burst forth
The rain is to the one a blessing, to the other a curse
