The vibration of your embrace consumes me,
Beneath a smothering blanket of night,
Enamored with your euphoric melody,
Every urge for movement dissipates,
As I lie in a stagnant pool of contentment.

The wind whispers to me a wreckless notion,
To lie here forever and evade progress,
Tempted by your sweet potion,
My lips part in anticipation,
As you open the vial and lift it.

But this distant scream for aid invades,
Hunger for your poison diminishes,
Snatched away from your endless tirades,
My soul entertains a new urgency for change,
As the sun rises on a new hunger for Life.
