Hair disheveled; a mess
Fingers grazed, jaw dropped; amazed
Eyes, star glazed; stared almost crazed
From a distance, happenstance
Some might say, coincidence
Stuck in gaze, for what was seen
Couldn't be unseen, senseless
Yes, but no, it was a new lense
Pristine, not a scratch, demure
But not pure, looking so unsure
She finally closed her eyes
Prayed to a God she knew not
Begging to unsee, the sights
Knowing not why her eyes cried
Rooted in place, innocence sighed.
Ignorance, could no longer
Be her defense, replenished
For naught, story finished
Closed eyes, stayed forever open
