Ephemeral Drops | Dialogue
Under the umbrella, and the meadows ahead
hand in hand, Emerald and Ray
as water droplets hang on the tips
colored by the sunset’s rays
he asked her as he gazed
“what drop of water would you be?”

Emerald:
I would be among these drops of rain
embracing the clouds, yet betraying me
our fingers brush for the last time
letting me go to fall down
as winds of gloom make me freezing cold
without the sun, I won’t be gold

Ray:
my love, how could you be the cold raindrops
when you could land on a window
you knock for someone to save you
yet the eyes of a child grow in felicity
through the other side of the glass
for she sees you for the first time

Emerald:
innocence on her mind
she would want to be like me
with the warmth of her finger
tracing down my path
and for you my dear,
what would you be?

Ray:
a bead of dew,
when the morning eyes cry
sobbing on the petals of a wilted rose
I may let the silence speak once
or may hardly hear the echo of my silence
I could be its last savior

Emerald:
aren’t you afraid
of being killed by the sun rays
a burn in your dance
makes you disappear into the void?

Ray:
I’d rather be the ray that races to an Emerald
and makes its colors bright
with every shade winking at me
let us get out of sight
before the thunders
wake up the night.
