A Heavy Feeling
Overwhelmed—it’s a heavy feeling,
Like a leash around my neck,
Holding me back from my duties.
Oh Lord,
This feeling—it’s eating me alive.
How am I supposed to live?
Someone, anyone—
Help me,
I'm drowning in water that isn’t there.
My chest tightens every time it strikes,
Hitting me like a ton of bricks.
"Ouch," I whisper inside,
But words fail me;
It’s too painful,
Leaving me feeling so small.
