Out for a morning walk, and
Glanced over my left shoulder
Saw my Past, just off my heels,
Closing quickly, and I shuddered

So I hastened my pace
Then looked back once again
The shadows of yesterday
Were all closing in

I walked even faster
Then I started to sprint
But, the darkness outpaced me
Panic began to set in

My heart was beating wildly
I was trembling with fear
I looked around - please, help me!
Just then, my Future appeared

Thank goodness, I thought
I can't keep up this pace
If I can just get to my Future
I'll definitely be safe

I realized, this was madness
And, I questioned my own sanity
I'm running from my Past
Looking to my Future to save me?
