At night your light warms me
A warmth so comforting
Even though you are shining from above,
It feels like you are within me
It feels like an embrace from within
Yet so far away you stand
I can always reach you
Yet it feels like eternity to attempt to
I feel your sensation in the palms of my hands
Yet through the fingertips you slip away
I try to capture your warmth in my body
Yet eternally there are worlds between us
At dawn I hold on tight to your warmth knowing that it will fade
During the day you hide your presence from me
And I hold on to your light
A light that only me can see
A light so assuring even though it cannot be seen
A light so dependable.
At dusk I await eagerly for the night
Knowing I will see you again
Even though without your embrace
Seeing you is enough for me.
A light that shines so bright from above
Yet felt within.
As you fade away through the day
Night will come again
I wait for eternity
Yet never apart.
